Hey lovelies, I am back again with another post. This time around I decided to challenge myself to see if I can get 3 complete outfits with just $100. This was actually fun so if you are looking for a personal shopper, I am your girl.
Before you find out if I was able to get with the $100, I want to share with you a few tips on how to shop on a budget;
How To Shop On A Budget
Shopping on a budget is something that can be easily done without stress, if you follow the tips below;
1. Know exactly what you want to buy
Take an inventory of items in your wardrobe that you don’t currently have and make a list of it. This is the list you would bring out when shopping, the purpose of this list is to help you streamline your funds to exactly what you want and need
2. Set a budget.
How much do you have to spend for shopping right now, try not to go beyond your means. Ask yourself this questions;
- If I spend this amount would I feel guilty afterwards?
- Does it make sense to spend this amount of money on clothes, shoes, bags or accessories?
- Can I spend this and not worry about my finances for awhile?
If you can confidently answer these questions well then you are good to go.
3. Look out for stores (Walk in & Online) within your budget.
Now that you have set your budget, look for stores that sell things within your budget. For example You want to buy 2 black shoes, your budget is $100 but you go to sites like Revolve or Net-A-Porter where the chances of getting those shoes is nearly impossible; instead you can check out sites like ASOS, marks & spencer, primark etc. You can as well go thrifting where you can get about four pairs if you do it well.
4. SALES SALES SALES
A lot of people actually sleep on this; most stores do sales when seasons are changing e.g Spring/summer sales when fall/winter is coming, end of year sales etc. Sometimes they randomly do sales when they are introducing a new collection and want to create warehouse space. A great way to be up to date with any sales is to subscribe to the mailing lists of the stores you want to shop in.
5. Stick to your list & budget.
When you log onto those online stores or walk in stores ensure you stick to your budget and list. If it means carrying cash or just one debit card when shopping do that. It can also help if you have someone that can help make sure you are not buying unnecessary items by showing them what you are about to add to your cart online or buy in the store.
