I found out that about 45% of the people that read this blog are from the busy cities in the world like Lagos, Nigeria & New York, USA amongst others. This got me thinking about the fact that most of us might spend quite a number of hours on the road to and from our various 9-5’s, leaving us tired and wondering where the 24 hours in the day have gone to. This blog post is dedicated to you guys! Typically, I spend roughly 4 hours on the road to and from work combined because I work in another state from where I live. I try to make the best use of those hours on the road. Today, i would be sharing with you all how I maximize my work commute in 3 major ways.
1. I work on my blog & side hustle.
This is where I try to brainstorm blog ideas, edit pictures for the blog, work on my insta story content, draft out emails etc which i won’t be able to focus on throughout the day because my 9-5 can be pretty demanding and most times when I get home all I want to do is chill, have my dinner and go to bed. In all honesty, I haven’t been able to do all effectively recently due to exhaustion but I am getting back on track.
2. Feeding The Spirit And Soul.
Lately I have been doing more of meditations (Sometimes I end up taking a nap, p.s. don’t try this unless you are sure it’s safe to do so), praying and practicing quietness on my daily work commute. I have a couple of podcasts & playlists I listen to. I usually listen to The Transformation Church, Elevation With Steven Furtick, The Good Life With Steve And Sazan podcasts for some faith boosting. The Gold Digger podcast and The Influencer Podcast by Julie Solomon for tips and trick on blogging and the influencer world. I sometimes just listen to my music playlist and sing in my mind. I sometimes pray too, i would bring out my intercessory guidelines and pick out a few prayer points to pray on.

3. Read, read, read and read some more.
Did you know that I read four books in the course of four weeks. Yep! You are probably wondering how, well because I was carrying them to work on a daily basis. Instead of starring at the long traffic and feeling kinda down, all I did was bring out my book and I won’t even know when I am almost at my bus stop. I feel like if you haven’t caught up on your reading list goal for the year, this is a good way to catch up on it. Slip in one book in your bag when going out in the morning, it would come in handy when you are stuck in traffic, in the waiting room or just trying to while away some time. I promise you won’t regret it.
How does your typical work commute look like? How do you maximize it?
