Hello beautiful people, happy new week! Let’s go out and do things that pushes us out of our comfort zones, and guess what you can do that in style. How you may ask? You would have probably heard these words before; ‘Dress To Impress’ or ‘Dress For The Job You Want Not The Job You Have’. These statements are mainly for us to watch the outfits we wear. From personal experience I have seen how the outfits we put on can actually boost our confidence. You know when people compliment your outfit, your face literally lights up, you unconsciously lift your head up, respond with a ‘Thank You’ and start sharing details on where you got each piece of your outfit from. That’s the confidence in you speaking! Whether we notice it or not, our outfit choices speak volumes about who we are and our current mood.
I always wear clothes that boosts my confidence and I would like to share with you a few tips that I put in mind in order to achieve that extra boost of confidence.
1. Does It Fit?
Clothes that don’t fit well would make you feel uncomfortable and it could be unflattering. It’s important to know your cloth measurements and also shop for clothing that fits your size. Getting a tailor to do minor [even major] adjustments to your clothes can go a long way. Wearing clothes that fit correctly we look more put-together and comfortable.
2. Comfort Is Key.
I get that sometimes it’s cool to take what I call fashion risks but if I am not comfortable in what I am wearing or I feel like there is something odd about whatever outfit I put on, i won’t leave the house dressed like that. Wear clothes you are absolutely comfortable in and that will shine through in the way you carry yourself.
3. Don’t Love It, Don’t Buy It.
Just because so and so bought it and wore it and looked amazing doesn’t mean you would look good if you did the same thing. Or maybe you looked in your closet and the ‘i have nothing to wear’ clause pops up in your mind and the next thing you are checking out different online stores trying to get something you saw on your favorite fashionista just to satisfy that urge. Don’t do it! Avoid impulse shopping. Buy quality pieces that stand the test of trends and seasons. This leads me to my next tip.
4. Find Your Go-To Style.
You know what makes you feel like YOU! If you are a jeans type of girl: rock it well, Are you comfortable in dresses, find which styles works for you be it straight, pencil, A-line etc. Be your own stylist and let the real you show in how you dress.
5. Dress For The Occasion.
No matter where you are going to always put some thought into what clothes will be appropriate. What you wear for brunch with your friends can’t be worn for a job interview. Invest in timeless wardrobe staples like a black skirt, white shirt and he likes. This makes you ever prepared for any occasion.
There you have it! My 5 tips on how to add that extra boost to your confidence with your outfit. Do you have any tips you would like to share?
