My Ibadan Diary

Hello loves,

Happy weekend. Hope we all had a good week and loving this weekend already. It’s really important to spend some time away in a new environment and just relax and i didn’t just that a couple of weeks ago. I took a trip to ibadan, which is the capital of Oyo state in Nigeria.

Going to ibadan was really exciting to me because I have lived there for about a year when I served my fatherland Nigeria  (NYSC). Spent my time in Ibadan in my grandpa’s family home. Here’s how it spent my seven days in Ibadan
Day 1

Ibadan here I am

This was the day I went to Ibadan. Took a public bus from my state of residence, otta to Ibadan. With my usual bag essentials. Spent about 3 hours on the road before getting to Ibadan. Spent the rest of the day catching up with my baby sister who is currently serving in Ibadan and catching up with my extended family members.

Day 2

This day started slow but then I ended going to the cinema and shopping with my sisters and a friend. Was really excited cause I can’t remember the last time I went to the movies. Watched Logan (if you haven’t watched it yet then you need to). It was while shopping got my new bathtime obsession.

Day 3

Took to a trip to Coldstone and dominos pizza because I had not had pizza and ice cream in awhile. Didn’t take ice cream because I had just made a decision on eating healthier. Later spent the evening in church (mid-week service)

Day 4 & 5
Spent these two days just relaxing, reading a book (that I am yet to finish).

Day 6

Popular Aleshinloye market

Went shopping again with my sister and aunty, this time at aleshinloye market (big local market) before we went to Agodi Park which was so beautiful,  it had a mini zoo.

Day 7
A Sunday,  went to church first before going to the local garage to get a bus back home.

It was a super relaxing trip for me especially with the terrible network (which was a blessing in disguise) that did really make me do much blog stuff. I gave me time to just be me and have fun.

Have you ever been to Ibadan before? Or have you taken a trip recently, how did it go?

Haven’t taken a trip or break recently but I sure could use one. You seem like you had a nice time, it’s always fun catching up with family after all. And girl since we’re on the subject of eating healthy, thumbs up to you for skipping out on ice cream but pizza isn’t exactly a healthy choice either but I love me some pizza, its been a while. Now I’ve never been to Ibadan or the South West but I’d love to one of these days.
