Growing up, i had always been on the shy side, keeping a lot of things to myself. I was always caring about what others thought about me and was afraid they would judge me.
When i got into university about 5 years ago, i knew i couldnt continue living that way. I had to look for ways in order to be a more confident person.
I have decided to share some tips that have helped me on my journey to self-confidence;
IN WITH THE POSITIVITY, OUT WITH THE NEGATIVITY
Its time to really evaluate your inner circle, including friends and family. Its time to consider getting away from those that put you down and shed your confidence; speak positively with your interactions with others.
BODY LANGUAGE AND IMAGE
I remember when i was in junior secondary school (junior high school) my principal always said “Dress the way you want to be addressed”.
Go the extra mile and style your hair the way it suits you, dress nicely, hold your head high and smile; it would not only make you feel better about yourself, but others are likely to see you as a confident person.
last but definitely not the least, Be You. Dont try to copy or be like others around you. Find your strengths and focus on them daily. Do what you love and dont be afraid to share it. Be willing to take risks; one risk for me is starting this blog and i have not once regretted it.
